Our meetings are held in public and you are welcome to attend to observe. We meet at locations around the West Midlands to give the public an opportunity to attend. Where webcasting facilities exist at venues, we web stream meetings live. Watch live meetings or view recorded meetings on birminghamnewsroom.com or www.coventry.public-i.tv

Ask a question at a West Midlands Police and Crime Panel meeting

At each meeting of the West Midlands Police and Crime Panel there is an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions about the Panel’s role scrutinising and supporting the Police and Crime Commissioner and undertaking its statutory duties set down in the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011. Before submitting a question please read our Public Questions Guide

Anyone wishing to put a question is asked to meet the following criteria:

  1. Questions must relate to the Panel’s role and responsibilities. (Please note, the Police and Crime Commissioner has separate arrangements for dialogue with the public).
  2. Questions can be asked by anyone living, working or studying in the West Midlands (except police officers and police staff).
  3. The question must be put in writing via post, email or online form to the Panel 4 days before the meeting.
  4. The questioner must provide an address and contact telephone number.
  5. A maximum of 3 minutes is allowed for each question.
  6. Questions should not
    • require the disclosure of confidential or exempt information
    • be defamatory, frivolous, vexatious or offensive
    • repeat a question asked before
    • refer to any matter of a personal nature

We will generally aim to answer questions at the meeting.
