The West Midlands Police and Crime Panel continues to support and scrutinise the Police and Crime Commissioner during the COVID-19 crisis. Panel members have recently reviewed the PCC’s new Emergency Police and Crime Plan.
The Emergency Police and Crime Plan sets out the key actions the PCC expects the Chief Constable to deliver, as well as a range of tasks the PCC and his office will undertake during this period.
The Panel’s review report has been published. Members welcomed the proactive work to support those at risk of domestic violence and young people and children during the lockdown. The Panel also acknowledged the PCC’s ongoing assistance to organisations supporting victims and working to reduce crime.
The Panel expressed its support to the Police and Crime Commissioner and the officers and staff of West Midlands Police in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic to support communities.
